Hay Kanto is a non-profit organization* in Madagascar that offers art classes to Malagasy children living in
poverty or with disabilities. Hay Kanto teaches children how to express
themselves through art using therapeutic approaches that include elements of literacy and numeracy. Hay Kanto also provides a gallery space for Malagasy
artists to encourage artistic exchange and apprenticeship within the art community. Proceeds from all works sold in the gallery are returned to the artists and used to fund Hay Kanto's activities.

Our Team
Meet Daniel
Daniel is a Special Needs teacher with 5 years of professional experience. He has partnered with various organizations working with children and adults with mental and physical disabilities in health, education and therapeutic sectors. He has a Master's degree in Economics and wrote his thesis on economic development in rural Madagascar.
Meet Laura
Laura is a Special Education teacher with 8 years of experience teaching and working in the US and Africa. She is currently working as a Special Needs teacher and counselor at the American School of Antananarivo. Laura studied Art History at the University of California, Davis and has two Masters degrees in Special Education and Childhood Education from New York University.
